LOVERS TURN TO MONSTERS

VC SESSIONS

"A BIG PILE OF RADIOHEAD SONGS ON FIRE"

Sunday 2nd October 2016

It had been a while since we'd picked up the cameras to shoot any acoustic sessions. There's always that rustiness when hitting the record button again after some time away. Shooting videos can be a tricky process; there are the days everything seems to go perfectly and others that can be a little more challenging. It was definitely the former when it came to filming Kyle Wood of Lovers Turn to Monsters.

Weary eyed and nursing what he had promised would be a notable hangover from playing Strugglefest the night before, the Glasgow based musician walked in to the flat, the venue of our first VC Session, with his sticker clad guitar in hand. He took his seat by the window as the autumnal sun shone through, acting as a natural back light. Kyle played us one of his new songs, 'A Big Pile of Radiohead Songs on Fire' from his new album '...But then there are good days'. It's quite rare these days to find a truthful and honest performer, in Lovers Turn to Monsters we definitely found one. His voice laid bare is filled with anguish whilst he delicately picks at his guitar, it makes for a powerful performance.

You can see Lovers Turn to Monsters perform at the Vegan Connections Magazine Launch on Friday 21st October at The Flying Duck. Tickets available here.
