Our favourite part of the Vegan food movement in Glasgow must be the emergence of all the indulgent cakes designed to satisfy our sweet tooth tastes. We recently tried out a few delicious treats from Blitz Patisserie, a subsidiary of Blitz Juice Bar and all round MASTER of raw flavour. As always, the whole VC team is here to help research the best Vegan products and places around Glasgow, so naturally we took it upon ourselves to sample more than one… or in this case five… of their homemade raw cakes.


1) Lime and White Chocolate Cake with Pistachio Base:


The zing of the lime cuts through the smooth, rich white chocolate with a crumble of pistachio to take away from the rich upper layers. An indulgent dessert for an important meal, we’d recommend this if your entertaining friends or a special someone you’re trying to impress.

2) Fererro Rawcher:

Our absolute favourite of the bunch! Very smooth, if you’re a hocolate lover this one is for you, it tastes like the inside of a Fererro Rocher.

3) Lemon and Raspberry Cheescake:


This very light and zingy cheesecake is perfect for a small treat with a coffee. The base isn't too intense but perfectly balances the intense flavour of the lemon.

4) Blackberry and Chocolate Cheescake:


Chocolate and date base pulls through, prominent chocolatiness. Filled with rich, festive flavours that burst in your mouth, this gem is the perfect addition to a Vegan Christmas feast.

5) Cookies and Cream:


If you miss creme brulee and milky sweets this is your match in Heaven. Creamy, sweet and extremely sweet this is your secret milky way of the Vegan food world.
